Humans are interdependent creatures. We know that anything really good and juicy is born of relationship, and stories are no different. Stories are principalities who have agency and purpose. They ask someone—you!—to help them come into the world.
I am here to help you do that.
My first obligation is to the story. I do my best to identify the places where it is asking you to say more, go deeper, and take risks. We discuss these ideas. We brainstorm together, and we dream big. I provide encouragement, deadlines, wise editorial feedback, personalized writing exercises, solid craft advice, and a little magic.
Sacred Witnessing isn’t some 21st century literary innovation. I use it to refer to a role traditionally filled by smart editors and dear writer friends. Look at what the friendship between C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien did for fantasy. My hope for all writers everywhere is to find a friendship like this, and I also know how rare it is to find someone who can help you hold your work in this way. The term “sacred witnessing” is corny, but I’ll use it until I find a better one.
I take this work seriously. Stories shape our reality, and our shared reality needs deep revision. I take only a few Sacred Witnessing clients at a time, and I only accept clients with whose work I resonate. If your story would be better served by someone else, I’ll say so, and often I’ll have someone to recommend.
Sacred Witnessing is a monthly arrangement. We meet four times a month on Zoom. I take notes during our meeting, and after sleeping on these notes for a couple of nights, I write a letter that includes a summary of our meeting, thoughts and questions that have arisen for me, and additional resources. These resources are tailored to you and your needs, so they might include anything. Examples include readings, personalized writing exercises, recorded meditations, and creativity exercises. I also read up to twenty pages a month and provide feedback in Track Changes.
Send me a message if you’d like to know more. We can set up a free, virtual, get-to-know-you.

Ginger Eager is a fantastic writer; her novel The Nature of Remains is proof alone of her talent and craft. And as a fantastic writer with a keen eye and a big heart, she is a fantastic editor and writing guide, too. Her critiques are helpful and motivating. My work, both fiction and nonfiction, has benefitted from her insight. Supportive, smart, and honest in her assessments, she is the real deal.

In addition to being a terrific novelist in her own right, Ginger has a sharp eye for what isn’t quite working in a piece and how to fix it. Her advice is always insightful, constructive and encouraging, and she offers it with the empathy of one who knows how hard writing can be. You can have no better ally on your journey to publication.
